This sale is for an extremely rare and really excellent condition Mamiya RB67 ProSD PD Magnifying Hood (chimney finder). This great accessory is suitable or use with all Mamiya RB67 series cameras, and can also be used on the RZ67 as a plain chimney finder.
This Mamiya RB67 ProSD PD Magnifying Hood is in great condition with only normal very minor signs of use, just typical light scuffs on the outside of the finder casing. This finder offers spot metering from a 3% area in the centre of the image (indicated by markings inside the viewfinder) and works pretty much the same as the RB67 PD prism finder.
I don’t have the instruction book for the PD magnifying hood, but the PD prism instructions can be downloaded from the Downloads section, and a general description of the PD hood can be found on page 16 of the RB67 ProSD brochure (also in Downloads). This PD magnifying hood has been tested and is working perfectly, and is equivalent to a metered version of the waist level finder. It takes one standard PX28 or 644 6v battery (included).
Use this hood for photographing outdoors or in a studio. This hood blocks out extraneous light, offering easy image viewing and simplified focusing. The magnifier gives dioptre adjustment (simply by turning the central shaft). Really useful. Please note that the eyecup has seen better days; it will not stand up unaided as it is partly torn due to aging of the rubber – but it is fine to use as it is. You could no doubt improve it with a little TLC.
