This sale is for a well used condition Mamiya M645 Prism Finder, suitable for any of the older Mamiya 645 cameras – the M645, M645J or M645 1000S. This is actually a PD prism with faulty metering, so it is sold (very cheap) as a non-metered prism.
This prism is well used, and the hot shoe is missing. The shutter speed dial on the prism can control the camera (that works!) but the metering always shows maximum + on the metering scale in the prism so is unusable. There is an obvious but narrow horizontal silver line across the image when looking through the prism. This is not really surprising – I guess 90% of M645 prisms have the same fault, purely due to age. In use this is not a problem, and can be used as an aid to keep the camera level.
Otherwise the prism is fine to use – a real bargain. Please note that you cannot use it with any of the newer Mamiya 645 Super, Pro and ProTL cameras.
Instructions for this prism can be downloaded from this website.
