A really superb example of the very rare Mamiya 645 50mm f4.0 C Shift lens – usable with all Mamiya 645 cameras including the 645AF series.
This lens shows absolutely minimal signs of use except for slight wear on the bayonet mount. Mechanically it is in perfect working order; optically it is really clean and clear – really superb.
The 50mm f4 shift is a special application lens for perspective control. It features a unique wide field coverage and perspective control shift mechanism in a rotating mount, allowing the photographer to maintain proper linear perspective, identical to PC Shift lenses for 35mm cameras. The maximum shift is 16mm vertically , 13mm horizontally. The lens can be shifted in any direction by rotating the lens 360 degrees around the optical axis. Click stops are provided at 30 degree intervals. The maximum shift for each 30 degree interval is indicated by colour coded numerals and shift scale. Note that the aperture mechanism on this lens is manual – there is no auto function – and it can be used on the entire range of Mamiya 645 cameras.
