This sale is for a generally excellent condition Bronica ETR AE-II Prism Finder, in very good but not quite perfect working order (see below), and suitable for any of the Bronica ETR series 645 cameras – the ETR, ETR-C, ETRS or ETRSi. It is supplied complete with the original rubber eyecup and the protective bottom cover.
This prism is cosmetically ok but there are large areas of lacquer coating missing from prism sides; this is purely cosmetic. The glass is really clean apart from the common faint grey horizontal line across the centre (most of the prisms have this, due to ageing). The metering is perfect on manual metering, and totally usable on manual, but it is slightly erratic on auto exposure – normally OK but sometimes gives odd settings. So, this prism is only recommended for use with manual exposure settings. In use on manual exposure the meter seems to be very accurate – it matches my Weston meter that I always use as a reference.
You can download the instruction book from the Downloads section of this web site. Very cheap because of the exposure issues on auto. Do not expect a perfect prism – but do expect one that is perfectly ok for most uses.
